The Chief of State Migration Service met with the delegation of Azerbaijan-Turkey Businessmen and Industrialists Public Association

The Chief of State Migration  Service (SMS), Vusal Huseynov met with the delegation of Azerbaijan-Turkey Businessmen and Industrialists Public Association (TUIB).

The purpose of the meeting, which was of an introductory nature was exchange of ideas about  favorable conditions created for domestic and foreign businessmen in our country, their support for Azerbaijan's economic, social and cultural development and ensuring transparency in migration related issues.

V.Huseynov mentioned that providing convenience of foreigners visiting  our country about registration and residence, increasing the attractiveness of Azerbaijan in terms of tourism and supporting entrepreneurship development are the priorities of the Service. The provided information was met with interest by the guests about the taken measures in this direction and work done on simplification of legislation. Chief of the State Migration Service highlighted that at the moment if foreigners and stateless persons’ permits for living and residing in the country, as well as work permits was cancelled  according to the relevant basis provided by the legislation, in any case those persons are expelled from the country and their entry to the country is restricted. Restriction on the entry of a foreigner or stateless person to the country for a certain period of time in many cases creates certain difficulties for the business sector, entrepreneurs. In the amendments to the legislation, for the purpose of development of private sector, lifting the ban on entry of a foreigner or stateless person to the country is considered in case the grounds for cancellation of their permission for stay, residence, or work in the country are removed.

Chief of the Service stated that SMS mobilized all the efforts to expand cooperation  with employers related to for work permits, labor migration quota, use of foreign labor force and other issues.

On behalf of the TUIB Huseyn Buyukfirat and others stated that the organization brings together numerous large companies and holdings operating in Azerbaijan, as well as renowned businessmen, entrepreneurs. It was noted that TUIB prefers works to increase its competitiveness within the framework of its activities, to  support sustained growth through structural reforms and to find solutions to social problems. TUIB created broad contacts with the government agencies of Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as business organizations in order to achieve these goals. They expressed satisfaction for the cooperation established with the State Migration Service.

At the meeting the sides exchanged their views on other issues of mutual interest.
