The Chief of State Migration Service attended luncheon organized by AmCham

The Chief of State Migration Service, Vusal Huseynov attended luncheon organized by American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan, answered the questions of the meeting participants.

V.Huseynov expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with business sector directly. He emphasized that one of the first authorities which foreigners apply is SMS. In this regard, ensuring transparency and convenience at the field of migration is one of the main priorities of the Service. Because development of tourism and business environment are directly related to migration issues.

Chief of the Service highlighted that large-scale and long-term foreign investment requires a more favorable business environment. Large-scale measures and wide  infrastructure projects implemented by Azerbaijan, including the establishment of the Alat Free Trade Zone, the commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline, the construction of the International Sea Trade Port  gives special impetus to attract foreign investment to our country an this is turn conditions flexible migration management.

V.Huseynov mentioned that cooperation with business community is expanded in order to be aware of the suggestions and complaints related to the activities of the SMS, to set up the service in line with the current requirements and attract foreign investment to our country. He also expressed his expectation that representatives of AMCHAM will also be represented in the Advisory Board to be established under the SMS.  He stressed the support for the implementation of this project with their active participation in the discussions during the first meeting. He stated “your views and comments which is reflected in the "White Paper", "Business Environment Report on Azerbaijan" and other documents have a great importance in terms of carrying out reforms to optimize the business and investment environment in our country. Because the offers which comes from business communities are being analyzed and taken into consideration by the Service. 

V.Huseynov has invited the companies that are operating in Azerbaijan to pursue a nationalization policy through the training of national personnel in order to meet the need for qualified personnel and increase the employment rate of the local population, as well as to effectively use local labor resources. 

Chief of the service added that the work on simplifying the legislation is being continued.

Representatives of AmCham expressed their satisfaction with the efficiency and the importance of the leading role of SMS in such business discussions with business sector representatives.
