Prevention of illegal migration discussed at the event held in Lerik

At the event organized by State Migration Service (SMS) in Lerik was spoken about the prevention of and fight against illegal migration was discussed.

At the meeting with public representatives of Lerik, included in the service area of Lankaran  Regional Migration Department the participants were informed about the cases of illegal migration, measures taken to prevent illegal migration and results obtained. It was noted that one of the activity directions of the SMS is to fight against illegal migration. The Service always keeps fight against illegal migration at the center of attention. During last year and four months of  this year relevant decisions were taken about the 27 thousand 388 foreigners and stateless persons who resided illegally in Azerbaijan by violating the requirements of the relevant Articles of Administrative Offenses Code  and the Migration Code.    

 During the meeting the participants were informed about the novelties in the registration of foreigners upon place of stay.  It was emphasized that the registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon place of stay in parallel with the Regional Migration Departments of the Service is also carried out at the centers of the  "ASAN service" on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the State Migration Service and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Applying for registration upon place of stay through the SMS official website (migration.gov.az), e-government portal (www.e-gov.az) and e-mail (registration@migration.gov.az) is also possible for online application. No state fee is required for registration upon place of stay of foreigners and stateless persons.
