STATISTICAL INFORMATION OF STATE MIGRATION SERVICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN FOR FIRST QUARTER 2018

4665 decisions were made by State Migration Service (SMS) on violation of migration, as well as administrative legislation in the Republic of Azerbaijan during the quarter.

Measures conducted by State Migration Service for the purpose of enhancing state control over migration processes in our country, as well as combating illegal migration were continued during the quarter of the current year, as well.

During the first quarter, 2018, 4665 decisions were made on violation of migration, as well as administrative legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan by foreigners and stateless persons as a result of measures and investigations conducted in Baku city, as well as in other cities and districts of the Republic. 2856 decisions, including 2323 decisions on leaving the country, 543 decisions on legalization of residence within the territory of the country were made on imposition of the penalty without administrative expulsion from the territory of the country for infringement of the relevant requirements of articles of Administrative Offences Code. 1653 decisions on restriction of entry to the country included 1333 decisions on imposition of penalty with administrative expulsion from the territory of the republic for infringement of the relevant requirements of articles of Administrative Offences Code and 320 of the decisions were on banning foreigners and stateless persons from entering the country for violation of the requirements of the relevant articles of the Migration Code. 53 decisions on renewing the document for temporary and permanent residence and 92 decisions on failing to take measures for timely registration and deregistration of foreigners and stateless persons upon the place of stay, in a way envisaged by Migration Code, by citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan or foreigners and stateless persons residing in the Republic of Azerbaijan who gave residential area to them, were made.

In total during the first quarter, 2018, State Migration Service received 19040 applications on extending temporary staying period, obtaining temporary and permanent residence permissions, revocation and restoration of citizenship, as well as establishing citizenship and determining refugee status, issuing work permits for carrying out labor activity and extending period of existing work permits by foreigners and stateless persons. Each application was investigated individually in accordance with legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and relevant decisions were made.

During first quarter, 2018, 163805 applications of foreigners and stateless persons on registration upon place of stay were registered.

8152 calls were received by the Call Center of the Service during the first quarter.

The Service organized 20 awareness-raising events and 10 mobile services in the first quarter of 2018.
