15 illegal migrants detained

State Migration Service continues measures on fight against illegal migration.

As a result of the measures against illegal migration 15 foreigners in total, including 7 citizens of Pakistan, 6 citizens of India and 2 citizens of Sri Lanka were detained.

During the investigation it was revealed that 2 citizens of India and 2 citizens of Sri Lanka among the detained foreigners allegedly came to the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to carry out business activity, but were not engaged in any business activity and the real purpose of their application was only residence and free movement in the country.

The violation of the rules of stay and residence on the territory of country by the other detained foreigners was revealed, as well. With this, violation of the requirements of migration legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan by foreigners was detected and relevant administrative measures were taken about them.
