Seminar on “Organization of the services rendered by State Migration Service” was held in Guba

At the seminar attended by representatives of head of Guba region executive body in administrative territorial units and chairs of municipalities, 1st deputy head of region executive body Yusif Abidov made a speech. He emphasized the importance of the event and expressed his satisfaction with the activity of Khachmaz Regional Migration Department serving in the region. He mentioned effective results of this kind of seminars and awareness raising events.

Brief information was given on Khachmaz Regional Migration Department covering Guba region. It was noted that the department launched to operation in 2010 and covers Siyazan, Shabran, Guba, Gusar and Khachmaz. Khachmaz Regional Migration Department is located at the address of 13 Heydar Aliyev Avenue, Khachmaz city.

Later on report was made on “Organization of the services rendered by State Migration Service”. It was informed that State Migration Service operates in interaction with the central, local executive and local self-governance bodies, as well as with international and local non-governmental organizations while performing its duties. Most importantly, State Migration Service forms its activities on the principles of respect for human and civil rights and freedoms, rule of law and humanism.

The Apparatus of the Service, as well as Baku, Shirvan, Lankaran, Ganja, Yevlakh, Shaki, Aghsu and Khachmaz regional migration departments operate at full capacity thanks to the attention and care by President Ilham Aliyev. Moreover, Service employees serve to foreigners and stateless persons, as well as to the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan at every “ASAN” service centers functioning in the country.

Extending the service places and forms of application, decreasing the required documents as much as possible, constantly raising awareness of foreigners and stateless persons, improving service conditions in line with the highest standards ensure legal residence and employment of foreigners visiting the country.

Recent amendments made in the legislation were mentioned at the seminar, as well. It was brought to the attention that Articles 53.1.4, 53.1.5, 53.1.8 and 65.0.5 of Migration Code were cancelled. Thus, reference on family members, notarized copy of marriage certificate and for foreigners and stateless persons with profession or qualification, notarized copies of the documents certifying it were removed from the list of documents required for issuance (extention) of permit for permanent residence of foreigners and stateless persons within the territory of Azerbaijan, as well as copy of relevant document entitling the foreigner and stateless person, who is in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan on other grounds was removed from the list of documents required for work permit.

During the report, it was underlined that according to the Article 76.3 of Migration Code foreigners and stateless persons should comply with the declared purpose of their entry. In this case declared purpose of the arrival of foreigners arriving in Azerbaijan on the basis of visa must correspond to the types of entry visas issued to them.

Also information on citizenship issues was given at the event.
